Toning Exercises Video Series
The triceps extension is the next video in this series. This is an
upper body exercise.
This one really targets the triceps muscle, as the name indicates.
The triceps brachii muscle is latin for three headed arm muscle.
Basically there are three heads to this muscle.
The long head, known as the inner head, runs down the back of
your arm. It is the largest of the three heads.
medial head lies deep within the arm and is positioned on the midline
of the triceps. This one is appropriately referred to as the middle
head at times.
The last of the heads is called the lateral head. It is located on the
outside of the arm.
Working the triceps (with it's three heads) can help tighten that
flabby skin underneath your arm.
It is one of the most under worked muscles, so toning this through
exercise can help tighten and strengthen this muscle.

Exercise #4 - Triceps Extension
The triceps extension is best
done with either resistance bands or dumbbell weights. You can just use
your bodyweight and let the movement tone the muscles.
However, to get the bang for your buck, try adding some resistance
while doing this move.
The video below uses a resistance band.
- Stand with feet together and flat on the floor.
- Holding the resistance band on both ends with your hands,
hand behind you and hold in place at your lower back with one hand.
- Reach your other hand over your shoulder bending at the
- With this hand, straighten your arm straight up keeping
your arm close to your ears.
- Repeat this for several reps.
- Switch arms and repeat for several reps on the other side.
You can use dumbell weights as well and do both arms at the same time
if you like.
