Get Fit with Wii

Wii Want to Exercise

Can you get a good workout and get fit with Wii Fit?

Video games have come a long way since the introduction of Atari.  For those of you old enough to remember, the game pong was all the rage and seemed new age.  Back then it seemed to move so fast but now we just laugh at how slow and basic the graphics were.

Now the video games are interactive and can actually make you sweat trying to beat the level or finish that song.  From playing guitar to shadow boxing to getting a hole in one, video games have now become a great way to have quality family time and burn calories.

The Nintendo Wii has taken this even a step further with their Wii Fit.  This fitness program takes getting interactive to an all new and sweaty level.  People who have this game console say that it is the greatest thing and is levels above the old pong game.  This virtual reality fitness is great for the whole family.  So get ready for some fun exercises, get off the couch and get interactive with the Wii Fit.

How to Get Fit with Wii Fit

man working out with wii fit gameThe Wii Fit is another attachment for the Wii console that looks like a flat board. The board is what makes you interactive with the fitness program.  Using this board, you can do a variety of exercises, get sweaty, burn calories, lose weight and get fit with Wii.

Of course there is a cost involved.  But almost any exercise program costs money rather it’s a membership to the gym or a DVD or your own home exercise equipment.  The Wii Fit board will cost you around $90 but people are grabbing this up by storm.  Although this may seem like a lot to pay for a simple attachment, the benefits are numerous.  You not only will get in shape and lose weight, you will be able to spend lots of quality time as a family as you all try this out.

This board works for people of all sizes and can hold up to 330 pounds.  So regardless of if you are already thin and just staying in shape or you are larger in size, this game board is the perfect way to enjoy the virtual technology and get fit.

Get Fit with Wii Fit Exercises

The Wii Fit uses several fun exercises to help get people in shape. There is the Ski Jump which simulates the Olympic ski runs.  With this exercise, you will use the board to ski and jump.

This one fitness exercise will have you squatting to get ready for the jump and then standing up to make the jump.  This up and down motion using the larger leg muscles is a great work out and you can feel like an Olympian while losing weight.

Other exercise games include complete interactive cardio and strengthening exercises.  Games like EA Sports Active, Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout and Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum are sure to get your blood pumping and burning calories fast.  These games have lots of different exercises like jogging, boxing and more.  You can even purchase even more accessories like the Wii Riiser Aerobic Step, Wii Fit weights, mats and more.

Wii Fit should not replace some of your other scheduled exercises.  Although this will give you a good workout, it may not be as intense as getting on the actual treadmill or elliptical machine.  So don’t quit the gym or your other workout routines.  Instead, add a few times of Wii Fit to keep your exercise routine exciting and challenging.
