Metabolism Booster Foods

Foods to Boost Metabolism Naturally Continued...

Here are even more metabolism booster foods to get your metabolic rate going. These are a great way to rev up your metabolism naturally.  That's right; no supplements or special pills, just every day normal foods.

Spinach, and all veggies in general

veggies
Vegetables are a great source for low calorie foods that help satisfy you and make you feel full.  Veggies contain fiber, vitamins and nutrients that help keep us healthy.  Certain vegetables also are great metabolism booster foods such as Broccoli and Spinach.

Spinach contains magnesium which has been known to boost the body’s fat burning process.  Other foods high in magnesium include peanut butter, tofu, whole wheat bread and my favorite, dark chocolate.

Spinach is also high in potassium which aids weight loss by keeping the body’s cells hydrated.  If your cells are not sufficiently hydrated, your metabolism will slow down.  Other potassium rich foods include bananas, honeydew and baked potatoes.

Apples, Pears

These low calorie, high fiber fruits are why these are included on the metabolism booster foods list.  These fruits will give you a satisfying sweet taste and help to keep you full longer due to the lower calorie and higher fiber content than other fruits.

According to one study from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, women who included apples and pears in their low calorie diet lost more weight than the women who did not add fruit to their weight loss plan.

Water

Okay, so water is not a food but should be part of your daily intake.  Studies are now showing that water can also help to boost your metabolism.  Consume approximately 8 to 10 8oz glasses a day.

Go Nuts

If you find yourself getting the post lunch munchies, try a handful of nuts (about 20).  This can help hold off the hunger until dinner time and keep you energized.  Nuts have monounsaturated fats which studies have shown helps stimulate fat burning as well.

Say No to Alcohol

This is a metabolism booster food, or should I say drink, no no.  Why? Alcohol lowers your activity metabolism and can stimulate your appetite. Additionally too much alcohol tends to cloud your mind and in this state you can make the wrong choices like eating too much of the wrong foods.

Other foods that can help you to become a healthier you and lose weight include;

Garlic – Add garlic to flavor your foods but more importantly, it can also help break down the fat.

Berries – Berries are filled with antioxidants and a great addition for your healthy lifestyle.

Soybeans and Soy – These are a great source for lecithin, which is believed to be a fat blocker preventing fat deposits.  It also helps break down the fats in your cells.
